Artists Statement

Using found objects, my work begins with the possibilities of the materials. An interest in the visual stories conveyed by inanimate objects underlies my work. Dealing with the materiality of the found object I enjoy discovering the moment when the materials find a new energy. Whether it is wood, foam, metal, stone or glass, each object has a narrative. It is important to me that the objects I use were once considered significant. Mixed media, including printmaking and etching are a large part of my practice.

I am also working with the Traveller Community in Co Galway and to date have completed several funded Collaborative Projects with the community. This involved working with both children and adults.
